Our Story
The evolution of Walters Fencing began in 1992 with Stephen working with the traditional tools of the trade such as the crowbar and shovel and driving posts into the ground by manual means and Narelle handling the admin and bookkeeping role while raising four children. When asked about these days Stephen says ’The only good thing about the old days is they are the old days…'
Over time, new and improved systems were introduced to enhance the productivity and efficiency of the business. Implementing the use of a hydraulic post driver, a post rack fencing trailer, custom-built wire winders, and custom-built wire spinners not only reduced the manual labour involved in fence construction, but it also resulted in tremendously increased efficiency and vastly hastened project completion times.
Then people began asking if they could buy the equipment we were using. Equipment we had innovated and engineered in-house, for our own use in fence pull-down and construction. A moment of realisation arrived. The decision was made to broaden operations into the world of manufacture, whilst continuing the fence construction business alongside.
We now work out of a 100m2 factory in Westdale, an industrial suburb of Tamworth NSW and currently employ a team of staff to design and build an ever-expanding range of fencing equipment and fencing materials. We are continually investing in research and development to bring the next generation of fencing equipment to market.
